The exhibit title, ‘An Unlikely Pair’ is to highlight a Scottsdale architect and Brooklyn artist’s collaboration during the 1990s in Scottsdale, Arizona. Architect Douglas Sydnor, FAIA and artist Vito Acconci worked together on the Loloma Multi-Modal Transit Center. The project was to accommodate a wide range of mass transit vehicles including local, regional, and tourist buses; hotel and resort shuttles, taxis, bicycles, and even horse drawn carriages. The built design included a services building, shade structures, performance space, and a 42 ft tall clock tower. One of the main goals for the project was to fully integrate the architecture and public art in a singular sculptural vision.

I was brought on board to work alongside Doug Sydnor, who also happens to be my father, to jointly craft the exhibit and develop the drawings required for its installation. Our collective decision was to showcase an assortment of media encompassing unique drawings depicting site studies, initial sketches outlining concepts, detailed construction documents, alongside a blend of photography, renderings, and study models. Central to the exhibit is a comprehensive 100-year timeline chronicling the evolution of the site's history.
